How we will proceed with measures in future
#Health advice re Covid-19
Here at Schmidt we pay particular attention to the health of our customers and employees. Naturally in planning and installing a kitchen there will be occasions when our employees will need access to your home. We have put measures in place to protect both you and themas outlined below.
If you have received a letter from your GP advising that you are immuno-compromised, unfortunately we will not be able to enter your home at this time. However, we will still be able to help plan your kitchen/living furniture via either the telephone or video conference. As soon as the government allows, we will then be in a position to press “go” on your project.
Before any visit, we will make an appointment with you to evaluate and define the meeting, in particular specific hygiene conditions regarding COVID-19.
If anyone in your family is showing symptoms of the virus or has been in contact with anyone else showing symptoms, we will have to re-arrange the appointment.
Of course, the same is true if anyone in our business shows symptoms, of has been in contact with anyone showing symptoms.
Once the risk assessment has been completed, we will send you a letter which must be completed and signed by you before the appointment.
All our employees have been trained to respect all measures possible to reduce the spread of COVID-19, including social distancing of 2 and will be equipped with hygiene kits consisting of a minimum of hydro alcoholic gel and masks.
Before and after every appointment these kits will be hygienically washed or disposed of.
Should you wish to handle products samples you can rest assured that they will have been scrupulously cleaned before being brought to your home.
If samples of our products are sent to you, they will have been disinfected beforehand in store.
To reduce the risks, we advise you to wash your hands before and after use.
When we come into your home to measure, deliver and install your new kitchen or living furniture, we respectfully request that you vacate the room concerned, and observe the 2 metre rule at all times if you need to enter the room.
Please open all doors and windows, and remove all objects from the room where possible, to avoid contamination by touch from our employees.
Use your own pen to fill out the documents that are submitted to you. Do not hand a document directly to us, to avoid contact.
Choose to pay by bank transfer and if paying by cheque, follow the same instructions as for other documents.
Your delivery person will tell you how to check your delivery and how to sign the documents.
After all these operations, wash your hands.
As the virus can remain on the surfaces of objects for several hours, these recommendations should be followed:
> After leaving the premises, clean the surfaces that could have been touched by our employee as a precautionary measure.
